In the UK I co-led Nunthorpe Academy to outstanding inspection outcomes in all categories and supported its accreditation as a National Teaching School, the Investors in People gold level accreditation, Investors in Careers status, and National Parent Partnership awards.

I am fortunate to have won UK National Awards for both teaching and STEM business / industry partnerships, for being distinguished by the Royal Academy of Engineering for contributions to its Engineering Education Scheme, and for receiving a prestigious lifetime achievement award for contributions to the betterment of contemporary society.

Before becoming an educator, I helped develop a chemotherapy treatment for colorectal cancer, a treatment which is still being prescribed to patients to this day.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, a doctorate in Chemical Physics, and PGCE Science with distinction. I also hold the professional qualifications: Chartered Scientist, Chartered Chemist, and Fellow of The Royal Society of Chemistry, Chartered Physicist, and Member of the Institute of Physics, and National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH).

I am passionate about educational research and have mentored over 100 projects over the past 20 years, including with Professor John Hattie & Professor Guy Claxton, including being an accredited visible leaming consultant and accredited trainer for the NPQML and NPQSL qualifications for school leaders.
